Hitting the Road with Google+
The success of e-commerce today is majorly dependent on popular Social Media platforms like Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. One more name that can be added to the list is that of Google+. So where do we begin from? From the claim that Google+ does matter when it comes to bolstering search result or from the beginning of this platform a few years back when it was considered to be a revolution of sorts but is yet to be comprehended in its entirety?
No matter, how its beginnings were or how it is being treated today, the importance of Google+ cannot be undermined as far as SEO is concerned owing to several reasons:
• Lately, MOZ had discovered that Google + shares were one of the major factors influencing search engine results in a major way. In spite of the fact that Google denies to attach any algorithmic value to Google+, there are some who still believe that there just be a casual correlation between SEO and Google+. In our previous post we have tried to describe exploring the relation between Google +1 and search.
• Link authority remains one of the crucial factors leveraging search. As against, most of the Social Media platforms, Google+ actually passes on link authority to some of the link posts. However, in order to avoid spam, links posted in the comments section might be attributed with a rel=nofollow.
• As per experts, bots crawl content shared on Google + very fast. So it has been suggested that website owners who are saddled with slow crawls, should share their content on Google+ in order to propel the indexation of the fresh content.
It remains, therefore, to be seen, how well are website owners able to explore the world of possibilities presented by this platform. Results are not too encouraging at present but things might look up with better awareness, education and changing business needs.
